THIS IS A WARNING TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS OF CHILDREN  

I'll be the first to admit I enjoy using YouTube.  In fact I often referr to myself on Facebook as a YouTube junkie!  I use it for everything from How-to videos, Audio Books and music videos.  But did you know there is also a darker side? This dark side is what this post is about...

Would it surprise you to know that YouTube is loaded with pornography, even worse there is child pornography! Remember the movie Pretty Baby with Brooke Shields? The nude scene is on YouTube as well as other movies, like Lolita, depicting children in compromising situations. 

Also pedophiles are taking videos of children, mostly young girls,and placing them in collections. Collections that can be viewed by other pedophiles!

Where are they getting these videos?  They are using your children's videos! Simple seemingly innocent videos of minors involved in all kinds of things from exercising to swimming, or just playing in the yard....  Actually there are too many to list!

And don't get me started on young girls who knowingly post videos of themselves, usually twerking, whatever that is, for there boyfriends and others.

This is where parents and guardians come in.  It's up to you to police what your children may be posting and sharing with the world.   

If you don't want to delete your children's videos then at least see if you can set them to private. 

One more thing.  You don't have to be an adult to view adult content on YouTube (some of it can be very explicit) all you need is an email account showing you're an adult.
